Jean Monnet Actions provide opportunities in higher education and other areas of education and training. They also contribute to the dissemination of knowledge on European Union integration issues. The following actions are supported:

The objectives of this type of action are the following:


promote excellence in teaching and research excellence in the field of European Union studies worldwide and facilitate professional development in EU studies for the next generation;
foster dialogue between academia and society, including local, regional, state and EU policy makers, civil servants, civil society actors, representatives of different levels of education and the media;
generate knowledge and ideas that support EU policy-making and strengthen the role of the EU in Europe and in a globalized world;
reach out to a wider public and disseminate knowledge about the EU to society at large (beyond academia and specialized audiences), bringing the EU closer to the general public.
They will also seek to serve as a vector of dialogue between the EU and the general public.
