he ApNano group studies the connection between structural and magnetic (including magnetotransport) properties in diverse nanoscale materials, from dilute systems of magnetic nanoparticles (0-dimensional systems) to nanoripples, wires and stripes (1D nano-objects), and from thin film and multilayer (2D) systems to dense assemblies – both ordered and disordered – of nanoparticles (3D systems). Our aim is to gain fundamental insight into structure-magnetic property relationships, which, in turn, may contribute to energy, sensor and magnetic recording technologies.
