Ana Carretero García

From Madrigueras (Albacete),  Ana Carretero García graduated in Law, has a Masters in Community Law and a Doctorate in Law from the UCLM. Her doctoral thesis gained the grade of ""summa cum laude" unanimously, accredited with European Doctorate and two research awards granted by the Spanish Royal Academy of Doctorates and by the European Committee of Rural Law.

She began her career as a researcher for the European Studies Centre and at present is Associate Professor of Civil Law and researcher for the UCLM Consumption Studies Centre, having taught at the Toledo Faculty of Legal and Social Sciences and more recently at the Albacete Faculty of Law. Her lines of research have mainly been developed in Agrarian law, Food Law, Civil liability, Security Interests, and Consumption Rights.

She has obtained different research grants, among which are the "Aristoteles" and "Robert Schuman" European grants and the IDAIC international grant for foreign researchers awarded by the Italian state which enables doctorate and post-doctorate stays to be made at different universities and prestigious research centres in France (Paris and Nantes), Italy (Florence) and Brazil (Ribeiro Preto). Likewise, she has worked for the General Directorate of Studies of the European Parliament in Brussels and has participated in a wide range of projects and research contracts on a regional, national and European level.

She is author of a range of books and chapters from books, as well as numerous doctrinal articles published in specialized legal journals and a range of collective works. She has been acknowledged for two 6-year research periods.

In management, she was deputy manager for Post graduate courses in Law aimed at lawyers from South America for four editions, as well as Assistant dean of Law at the Toledo Faculty of Legal and Social Sciences from April 2009 until May 2013.
